History

100 Years of Catholic Education

Founded in 1909, Cardinal Gibbons High School is a college preparatory high school of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh. We embrace the mission of Jesus Christ: to form men and women of faith, service, and leadership in church and community.

The school has undergone a few name and location changes in its 99-year history. Despite these changes, the school has retained the spirit and memories of its graduates, families, faculty and staff, and religious orders who have given so faithfully of themselves in support of Catholic education.
